Dear Anonymous Outside Contributor,

Reveal yourself, you just made some great points!

This post highlights some classic examples of how stress, overwhelm and anxiety stifle our natural resources and coping abilities.

Well said!

To be aware of our strengths and be able to recall times when we've coped well in the face of adversity is one of the best acts of self-support we can offer ourselves. That, and keeping things in perspective, can stifle negative thoughts before they go trampling our intelligence.

in appreciation,

Thanks for the very clear examples of negative thinking. I agree with you whomever you may be. (It would be nice to know the 'outside contributors' name.)

One of the most important things that we all need to pay attention is the things we tell ourselves daily about ourselves--you know that little voice that says things like "You're clumsy." "If they only knew who I really am." "I'm stupid, a klutz, an impostor....pick one." We all can do well to tell ourselves good things about ourselves...even if someone long ago told us that was conceited or bragging. It isn't. It is simply reinforcing healthy self-esteem. Remind yourself frequently of what you do well. Be your own best friend.
