Green Food
To me, personal development isn’t only about improving one’s mind or skills, but also about health. These are very interrelated, in that when you have more energy and physical health, you are going to feel better about yourself. And when you feel good about yourself, you will take more interest in your health.
One major component of health is of course nutrition. I believe green food extracts can be a great way to improve your health through better nutrition. These are often called “super green foods” and are being written about more and more lately. Tony Robbins spoke of them very highly in one of his seminars I have on CD, claiming it’s responsible for his high energy levels. While I don’t believe green food extracts can be a substitute for eating right, and regular foods, I do feel they are far better than vitamins as a way to get additional important nutrients.
One of the most interesting green foods is wheat grass, which is sold in liquid form at some health drink outlets such as Jamba Juice. A wide array of impressive health benefits have been claimed with wheat grass such as increased energy, improved pH levels, immune system improvement, and a anti-cancer affect. Barley grass is another type of “cereal grass” which may have beneficial effects, and is full of vital nutrients. Both of these are reported to help reduce cholesterol levels.
While I’m a skeptic with many of the health claims, I do use the Green Superfood sold by http://www.amazinggrass.com, based upon personal positive experience with it. While I can’t say it’s going to help prevent cancer, I do know I have more energy, get by with less sleep, and my cholesterol level did go down after using it. I have no business association with this company and there are many other similar products out there, but this is what I’ve used. If someone wants to recommend any other such products, please post a comment. Unfortunately some of the ones I’ve seen are priced excessively high or lack the ingredients I’d like to see in them.
The Super Green food from this company has a lot of other great ingredients, as listed at http://www.amazinggrass.com/superfood-ingredients.html. I’m already familiar with some of these as being very good to take, Green Tea for example has a huge amount of evidence of positive health benefits. Probiotics is also great to take for your general digestion. I’ll warn you it’s not going to taste great or anything, but if you blend it in with water or juice, you get used to it. For me, it took about 3 days of taking a tablespoon in the morning and evening to feel the full benefits, then later started just once a day to keep the cost down.
If anyone else has had any personal experiences with super green foods, please post your comments.
