Power napping with pzziz
Our favorite author Chuck Gallozzi just wrote a new article about Power Napping, and talks about an interesting product he uses named pzziz. Basically it’s a drug-free way of dealing with insomnia or just having more energy, by playing specially made MP3 files which induce a high quality power nap. There’s actually some science behind it, utilizing binaural beats and frequencies which tell your brain to relax, along with hypnotic suggestions. They have even incorporated NLP techniques. And the real interesting part is they can incorporate computer generated randomness, something not possible on a tape or CD, which they claim helps keep the subconscious mind active. They also sell a small portable hardware player if you prefer that over playing on your PC or laptop.
You can read Chuck’s article or go directly to the pzziz website.

I actually have experience with products like this. About a month ago, I started listening to audios (the same as you spoke of in this post) called Brain Sync, and every night I listen to the audio: Sound Sleep or Deep Sleep.
I have never had a problem with insomnia, but I was experiencing restless days even on days that I got abundant hours of sleep. Ever since I have been listening to the audios at night, I have had better quality sleep, and feel more rested even after having a few hours of sleep than if I had a full eight hours of sleep without the audios. In my experience, they work great.
There are also other Brain Sync programs I use. For example, High Focus allows you to concentrate and be more productive as you are doing work, and I use it whenever I am reading or writing on my blog. As a result, I feel more awake, alert, and focused on what I am doing.
I am a strong advocate for these types of programs. However I do stay away from some that are iffy when it comes to my religious beliefs. But for the most part, they are very helpful for me.
UPDATE: I posted a review of a few of the brain sync titles I have used so far, here is the post on my blog: http://xerobug.net/index.php/2007/07/potential-of-brain-wave-therapy/trackback/
