Gaining confidence

Here is a great article I found, something many of us can relate to I’m sure.

Improve self confidence

1. DRUNK!

At the age of sixteen I was invited out for the evening on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. This for most people would be something to look forward to, for me it was something to dread. Socialising and ordering drinks for somebody who has a stutter is bad enough, but I regularly seemed to bare the brunt of the evening’s jokes about me height, weight and occasionally my bald patch. Even though my friend’s were not doing this to be cruel, I was very paranoid about myself at that age and this banter would hurt.

Goal Setting Methods

I ran across this new article on Goal Setting Methods and thought I’d post it here:

Why Goals Are Vital To Your Success

The art of goal-setting is correctly said to be the key to life-long success. At the same time, it is admitted that those who set goals often fail to follow through. Yes, they may be more likely to succeed than those who set no goals whatsoever. However, how can you learn to set goals and then follow through consistently to create the life you dream of?

First, be in no doubt about the critical importance of having goals, and preferably creating them in writing. What is a goal exactly? Tony Robbins defined a goal as a dream with a deadline. In other words, you define your dreams, and then come up with a time estimate of how long it will take for you to get there.

Power of Emotions

I’ve just posted an article by Dr Jill Ammon-Wexler called “The Unstoppable Power of Your Emotions”. You can read it at http://personal-development.com/articles/power-emotions.htm.

Emotions are a very interesting part of us, and seem to be one of the more difficult things to control. I believe they are one of the most important things to look at within oneself, a key tool in finding happiness and taking control of your own life.

Dr Jill also talks about the “Law of Attraction”, which I believe is another important concept to focus on. Whether you take a more scientific approach such as building neural pathways, or a more metaphysical approach regarding our inherent power to create, there seems to be validity that we tend to bring about what we focus on.
