Research shows that 1 in 3 men suffer from premature ejaculation. Though there is very little information available about what should be the ideal duration, medical professionals do define the condition something like this-
“When a man reaches climax soon after penetrating, or before he or his partner wants them to”.
On average, however, it has been established through several studies that men last a little over 5 minutes.
Premature ejaculation is not necessarily a health concern, however, it can affect the quality of life. For example, the condition has been associated with the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Nonetheless, science has advanced a lot, and in the field of sexual medicine too. There are products available in the market that help improve delay time and enjoy sex more. And one of these products is a delay spray.
What is a delay spray?
A delay spray is used to desensitize the penile region and delay climax.
It could be surprising to know that there are over 6,000 active nerve endings at the tip of the male reproductive organ. These nerve endings are primarily responsible for the sensations of pleasure.
However, for some men, these sensations can be too much, while for others they may not be as sensational. In other words, the sensitivity of these nerve endings can vary from person to person.
The delay spray helps reduce this sensitivity and enjoy for longer. Hence, the name.
How does it work?
As such it is easy to wonder how does a topical product helps control intrinsic nerve endings. Notably, the main ingredient in delay sprays is lidocaine.
If you don’t know what lidocaine is- it is a local anesthetic. Yes, you read that right. Indeed it is more common than you may think.
Lidocaine is also used in dentistry and other minor surgical operations.
In delay sprays, it has a similar action as it would have in other parts of the body. However, its effects can easily be controlled by controlling the concentration in the solution.
Usually, in delay sprays, lidocaine is used in minute quantities to numb the nerve endings partially. When you buy desensitizing spray for men you should check the lidocaine concentration in it. Nonetheless, it helps largely by delaying the electronic signals between nerve endings. And thus delays the final climax for men.
Are there any side effects?
As such, there are no reported side effects of using delay sprays. A short study conducted in 2003 concluded that men who used delay sprays lasted over 11 minutes. While the ones that didn’t use a delay spray only lasted over 84 seconds, on average. The time was calculated from the point of penetration to the point of ejaculation.
The study also explored any possible side effects of using the spray. And luckily, over 80% of the subjects who participated in the study stated they feel perfectly fine. Besides, many also added that they enjoyed sex more than they did before. Notably, the study included over 100 subjects out of which nearly half were given the spray, while others were given a placebo.
The study also included women partners of men who used delay sprays. The results were astonishing. Most women clearly stated that sex has become more pleasurable since their partners started using the product.
However, it is noteworthy that people with sensitive skin or lidocaine allergies may show some side effects. This includes temporary redness or swelling around the penis. Other than that, the delay sprays have been approved and patented by governing authorities.
Premature ejaculation is more common than you think. And, it is neither something to be alarmed of nor ashamed of. In many cases, doctors recommend using supplements and over-the-counter drugs to help with the condition. And, it is easily treatable for most, with an average lasting period of one or two months.
Sensitivity has been found associated with PE, along with stress and performance anxiety. The delay spray only helps with the sensitivity. And with no side effects reported until now, it is considered relatively safer than pills and capsules.
So, if you think you or someone you know is suffering from this condition, know that it can be cured. Whether you desire longer-lasting results or temporary results, is up to you.
